Kiyosaki says "make money fast", before the dollar crashes ...
I have read neither Rich Dad, Poor Dad nor Rich Kid, Smart Kid. As a matter of fact, I have not read any of his books. Reading some of his columns among other Yahoo "Experts", I couldn't quite figure out, what to make of them. Finally it dawn upon me. Mr. Kiyosaki tells you a fine story, without giving you neither solid conclusion nor straight advice. But if you read carefully what he says, it does make sense.
In his last column, The Slow-Motion Stock Market Crash, Kiyosaki explains in rather subtle terms, at least these terms are subtle for me, that no matter what many stock gurus say, and what you want to believe in, the money you make on stock market is not enough to match the inflation, or in his words - 'the U.S. dollar's purchasing power erosion'. He goes on to the gold and oil price and value changes for the last 10 years, and concludes that investors need 'at least a 15 percent annual return on their stocks or mutual funds just to break even'.
I still can't quite get how he came up with the 15% annually, but the picture he painted is correct. The reason, again, strictly in my opinion, that he doesn't give you any practical advice, is that for an average person, there aren't too many, outside of stock market which is continuously crashing, and of the real estate market which is about to crash. You can't buy few oil wells here, or few gold mines there. You can't even buy a decent piece of land at the huge discount to later subdivide and resell to the future owners of the already-planned trailer park, as Mr. Kiyosaki claims, he has done, because ... well, you are not him, and you'll never be the first to a similar bargain.
So the only thing to do, besides still buying some gold, silver and land, is to make more dollars than you spend and do it faster than the inflation that affects dollar's purchasing power. How? That is up to you to figure it out. As far as Kiyosaki's writings, read them and digest.
