How do you like that one? Just like that, a backup tape containing personal data on some 650,000 unfortunate consumers is missing. Mostly the customers of J.C. Penny and about 100 other retailers that used GE Money to handle their credit card operations are affected, and can become victims of identity theft and credit fraud. Freeze credit report while it is not too late, or you may have to spend many hours on bad credit repair.
