Wrong bad credit record comes back Verified from Experian
Q: We are in a dispute with Experian. According to Experian credit report, both my card and my wife's separate accounts with Capital One are 30 days late. The balances are wrong, the credit limits are wrong and we have never been even near 30 days late. Experian claims that Capital One verified the information it reports and the results are both credit cards are 30 day Late, Open and Due. Equifax and TransUnion report these accounts as Never Late with correct balances and credit limits.
A: So you followed the steps outlined at Disputes, they verified and keep all the wrong information?
Call Capital One and request to talk to the manager. Explain your situation.
Ask Capital One to cross check while you are on the phone, and see if any of your accounts are in order.
Ask them to send you a letter that confirms your side.
Ask them to send reconfirmed information to Experian as well.
Then send the copy of this Capital One letter to Experian by registered mail with return signature confirmation and ask them to cross check your name and social security against duplicates, errors, etc. Emphasize the differences between credit limits/balances reported and real. Attach statements which show the difference as a proof. Unless Experian gives you different mailing address, try this one -
Experian
P.O. Box 2104
Allen, TX 75013-2104
Tell them that you verified with Capital One and if the Experian doesn't correct, you will take legal steps.
