Statute of limitations on debt and judgements in Alaska

Q: Can someone tell me what are the statutes of limitations in Alaska on both debt and judgement? I get all sort of conflicting ideas. I used to live in Alaska and moved away two and half years ago, leaving behind some unpaid bills. Now I am about to move back and want to know what to expect.
A: Alaska SOL on judgements, both foreign and domestic is 10 years with the maximum interest rate capped at 10.5%. Debt SOLs are rather confusing, with many sources reporting very different information. The best I can tell you is that statute of limitations on both Open Account and Written Contract is 3 years. You better find a local debt-related attorney.
