Experian credit report and score will not be part of FICO from February 14, 2009
Comes Saturday, there won't be Experian FICO Scores any more. Experian credit report will no longer be available with FICO as the 6 year relationship between Experian and Fair Isaac will end. Fair Isaac said that Experian decided to stop allowing consumers to access their FICO scores via myFICO. FICO scores from Experian will no longer be available to consumers. myFICO is the only source where you could purchase FICO scores based on 3 credit reports from Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. So effective February 14, 2009, you will not be able to buy your Experian credit report or FICO score through myFICO. It is not such a big deal as some try to make you believe. Basically, unless you have a mortgage broker or other professional lender friend, you won't see your FICO score based on Experian data at all. However, you will be able to get your Experian PLUS credit score from Experian website or from third-party resellers. FICO scores from Equifax and TransUnion still continue to be available, as both are under contract. And you still can get your Experian FICO score before February 14, and can purchase your Experian credit report and score from Experian or Equifax and TransUnion.
