Legal Helpers Debt Resolution

Q: I have close to $41,000 in credit card debt. All the credit cards - 6 total, are at 0% interest for the next 10 to 12 months and while I have no problem paying them off in full at any time, it is nice to spread those payments over several months for free. Yesterday I received a letter from Legal Helpers Debt Resolution, LLC which starts with Apply for Debt Relief Today! statement. And it offers $20,000 proposed debt reduction. That be nice of course, but after looking a bit further, I found it is one of those legal advertisements from some law firm. I am still tempted to call them and see if they can do anything for me. The letter also states no proof of income required and that you could become debt free in 12 to 36 months. What do you think of it?
A: Legal Helpers Debt Resolution, LLC is basically the law firm of someones called Macey, Aleman, Hyslip & Seams. Coincidentally, I tossed a very similar letter into garbage a few weeks ago. This outfit claims to be the largest debt resolution law form in the United States, which is possibly a correct statement. Their forte is Chapter 7 and 13 Bankruptcy filings. I bet this debt resolution or debt reduction letter you have, does not mention it. Even the small print on the bottom.
This law firm also generates leads and sells potential debtors to other debt resolution lawyers. The interesting thing is how Legal Helpers got your information. They often buy debt information from credit reporting agencies. I think, in certain states it is illegal with conjunction of subsequent solicitation. But regardless, in your situation I don't think it makes any sense other than take the letter and throw it out.
