Marc Faber, gloom and doom, gold and stocks, energy and agriculture

Today I was reading and listening to Marc Faber, you know the one of GloomBoomDoom.com. He is of course a very wealthy and successful man, and presently quite gloomy, I must add. In addition to being very smart, he is also pretty straightforward. Tells you what to do, without selling anything. Naturally, he is recommending to accumulate gold and silver. Just buy those methodically. Other things Mr. Faber recommends are staple foods and farm land. Just in case, to protect yourselves from some unlikely unpleasantries.

Now to the point, I am putting some stocks for too many of you, who are still allergic to physical precious metals and by some reason, can't or won't buy too much food or a few acres of farm land. So many people still prefer stocks over commodities. I put them in following 4 categories - metals, energy, food related, agriculture and timber. For disclaimer sake - all these stocks are for you information only, I don't recommend them, do your own research or hire a stock broker. Presently, I don't own any of them. And remember, you can't eat stock shares.

Metals
Hecla (HL) and Pan American Silver Corporation (PAAS) for silver.
Agnico-Eagle Mines Ltd. (AEM) and Newmont Mining Corporation (NEM) for gold

Energy
United States Oil Fund (USO) for oil
United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) for gas
These can be good alternatives to more expensive stocks like Exxon Mobile, Occidental Petroleum, etc.

Food related
Intrepid Potash, Inc. (IPI), Mosaic Co. (MOS) and CF Industries Holdings, Inc. (CF) for fertilizers. Can't eat without those.
Monsanto Co. (MON) for seeds

Agriculture and timber
Rayonier Inc. (RYN) and Plum Creek Timber Co. Inc. (PCL) for timber
Limoneira Company (LMNR) for citrus and avocado
Alico Inc. (ALCO) as Florida land management company
JG Boswell Co. (BWEL.PK) for cotton and wheat

That is all folks. Just a food for thought. There are plenty of other stocks out there. Just remember, nothing beats the real thing.
