Katrina creates real estate boom in Baton Rouge

Baton Rouge, the normally sleepy Louisiana state capital is filled by the rescuers coming to help and the evacuees trying to start rebuilding their hurricane shattered lives.
This created an unbelievable real estate crunch with people bidding on every available rental property. There is no vacancies in Baton Rouge, period.
When buying, people pay cash for the properties they haven't even seen. Inspections are simply waived.

Demand for commercial property is also sky high.
